HEATMASTER WOOD FIREPLACE FLUEING REQUIREMENTS

HEATMASTER FLUEING - Depending on the type of installation, the flue system will vary. If you are installing into an existing masonry fireplace or you intend to build a masonry enclosure and chimney then an active flue run is all you need with one outer flue and cowl at the top. If you want a zero clearance 'boxed in' with timber frame then a triple flue system is required.

The Heatmaster freestanding can be installed with a single flue to ceiling level where it must become a *triple system through the roof. However, if you are using a stainless steel flue, you may consider using double skin as the active flue will darken to a bronze-like colour after a while. A min 3.6 metre flue kit is required.

The Heatmaster inbuilt 'B' series is designed for a full masonry enclosure and chimney and only requires a single active flue to the top of the chimney where it should have at least one outer flue and the correct size anti-downdraught cowl. The top section should be totally waterproofed.

The Heatmaster inbuilt 'A' series is designed as a zero clearance unit to be housed in cabinetry or a timber framed enclosure. All zero clearance wood heaters must be triple flued from heater to hat. Check flue sizes below as the different sized boxes run different size flues.

Heatmaster 450..................6" or 150mm
Heatmaster 650..................7" or 175mm
Heatmaster 750..................8" or 200mm
Heatmaster 900..................8" or 200mm

* When we refer to a triple system, we have one active flue with two outer casings or outer flues with a 2 inch diameter difference between them and spacers over a longer run. So if you are running a heater with a 6" or 150mm spigot then you would also run an 8" and 10" through any combustible penetration.
